Conference 2024

The 9th International Conference on Hot Sheet Metal Forming of High-Performance Steel, CHS²-2024 was organized by LTU and Eurecat in cooperation with the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, from 27th to 29th of May in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

The conference series returned to North America for the 3rd time after being back in Europe for the last edition. 140 participants in a mix from industry and academia joined the conference and total of 69 technical papers were presented. The topics covered the whole value chain of hot forming processes including performance of finished components.

The conference opened with a new and very much appreciated event, a round table discussion where OEMs, TIER1 and steelmakers discussed the future of the hot-forming technology. The discussion gave insights about the future trends of the automotive sector and how hot stamping can help in the transformations of the transport and steelmaking sectors.

Next time in 2026 the conference will be arranged in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
